SYNERGY YOUTH Club is an initiative that came out of Co-Counselling training. Following the 40 hour FUNDAMENTALS programme the youth decided to join the and meet regularly to practice their co-counselling skills. There are around 50 youth who have chosen to do this. The activities are:
- The meet once a month on the POYA/Full moon day for a couple of hours to continue Co-Counselling activities where they continue sessions
- They meet once a month to on a Saturday to attend a COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WORK programme which includes studies in:- Personal development, Human rights, Psychosocial studies, Social mobilisation, CBO development, CBO management, Leadership, Training of the Trainer, Parenting, Global issues, Gender in development and finally The way forward........
- The COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME also has a voluntary componant where participants spend one day a month in the Internally Displaced Persons camps engaging in practical work. They write 12 assignments on the 12 topics and submit a proposal at the end of the year
- SYNERGY YOUTH also engage in a DISASTER MANAGEMENT programme which teaches them as to how to manage themselves and their community in a crisis situation
- The youth are also offered opportunities to learn English and computing skills
- They will soon take off on a 3 day RESIDENTIAL WORKSHOP learning Leadership skills in a location set in an idyllic natural surrounding conducive for learning
